Whoo Hoo!

This is the first time in a while I’ve had more than one sub out at a time. And while I resist the urge to click the refresh button on my inbox, I still find that I  check it as soon as it shows me I have a new email. Since my last update I have edited a piece and sent it back and plowed through the slush piles of both Port Iris and Dagan Books. It always amazes me that there is so much talent out there.

So this morning, I log into my email and begin clicking the usual updates from weather underground and new twitter followers. Just under the email from Every Day Fiction I see a “Congratulations.” I open it, and yes it is an acceptance.

So now, I have sold my second story.  “The Gammi Experiment” will be published in April 2012 in the SPACE BATTLES: Full Throttle Space Tales #6 anthology, printed by Flying Pen Press.  I’m very proud of this story. 1- because I haven’t read much space battle stories in ages, and 2- it was a stretch for me to write it.  The idea came from the hours B plays on EVE and some of the interesting battle scenarios that play out in that game.

Speaking of EVE, they are having a flash fiction contest. You have to use the image provided but you can go any direction you want with it in the EVE universe.

And another bit of good news, I entered a micro fiction (100 characters) flash contest.  My entry was picked as one of the top 25 in my group. If you wouldn’t mind voting for me I’d appreciate it. I’m in group 3 under Sarah Hendrix.

Thank you so much!
